I had my most recent colonoscopy at the end of June, 2008. One polyp was found, removed, tested, and determined to be non-malignant. It has been five years since my surgery without recurrence, so I am now officially cured. If the malignant polyp had not been found five years ago, I would very likely have died from colon cancer by now. I'm on a permanent schedule of biennial colonoscopies now, but that's a small price to pay. |
